PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular friction detecting device and a vehicular friction detecting method, capable of properly detecting friction generated in a suspension, according to a traveling state of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicular friction detecting device includes: a braking force calculating unit 40 for calculating the braking force of a wheel; a braking force friction calculating unit 48 for calculating braking force friction on the basis of the braking force calculated by the braking force calculating unit 40; a driving force calculating unit 42 for calculating the driving force of the wheel; a driving force friction calculating unit 50 for calculating driving force friction on the basis of the driving force calculated by the driving force calculating unit 42; and a total friction calculating unit 56 for detecting friction generated in a suspension by adding up the braking force friction calculated by the braking force friction calculating unit 48 and the driving force friction calculated by the driving force friction calculating unit 50. The friction generated in the suspension is detected separately to each suspension. |
