[Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A coupling for reciprocating shafts comprises one or more levers D, E rotatably attached to the shaft J and arranged to be closed upon a sleeve F, slidably carried by the shaft J, by the action of one or more internal cams L, M, N, O contained in a sleeve P axially rotatable about the shaft J and substantially surrounding the levers D, E. The levers D, E are preferably two in number and notched at their sleeveengaging ends, the cams L, N and M, O being arranged to engage and disengage the levers. with respective clockwise and anti-clockwise rotations of the sleeve P.
