PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform good idle-up control within a traveling range without any deterioration of start responsiveness or an unintended start to promote activation of a catalyst device during cold starting of an engine in a power train system including a fluid transmission device disposed between the engine and a transmission mechanism and the catalyst device disposed in an exhaust passage.SOLUTION: During idle running, when a catalyst device is in an inactive state, an idling revolution speed is set higher than that in an active state. During this period, when an automatic transmission is switched from a non-traveling range to a traveling range in a state where there is a braking request from a driver, the interlocking state of a transmission mechanism is realized by fastening a predetermined friction element when the start friction element of the transmission mechanism is fastened. When there are a request for activating the catalyst device and a braking request from the driver, the neutral idle state of the automatic transmission is realized by moving the start friction element to a releasing side. |
