A method and an electronic device for displaying notification information are disclosed. The method includes: receiving (101) notification information in a lockscreen status; determining (102) a user type of a user that will view the notification information; determining (103) a display mode of the notification information according to the user type; and displaying (104) the notification information according to the display mode, wherein the determining the user type includes: detecting whether a wearable device belonging to a specific user exists in a predetermined region, and determining the user type according to the detection result; or, collecting first physiological characteristic information of a user that uses the electronic device, and obtaining pre-stored second physiological characteristic information of the specific user, comparing the first physiological characteristic information with the second physiological characteristic information, and determining the user type according to the comparison result. |
