PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge abutment which facilitates its installation work and removal work, and also facilitates its fabrication and reuse, and a construction method thereof in which the installation work is easy.SOLUTION: A bridge abutment 2 provided on ground 91 on at least one of both ends in the bridge axis direction of a bridge 1, includes a base part 3 which is provided between the ground 91 and a superstructure 8 of the bridge 1 and receives the load of the superstructure 8. In the base part 3, plural base blocks 31 made of precast concrete are arranged adjacent to each other in a direction perpendicular to the bridge axis direction. |
