PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably increase uplink speed in optical beacon communication.SOLUTION: The present invention is related to an optical beacon 4 which wirelessly communicates with a vehicle mounted device 2 on a traveling vehicle 20 using optical signals. The optical beacon 4 includes; an optical receiver section 11 capable of performing photoelectric conversion at two (high and low) transmission speeds; an optical transmitter section 10 capable of performing electrooptic conversion at a prescribed transmission speed; and a communication controller (beacon controller 7) which adds beacon identification information for identifying the optical beacon 4 as a new optical beacon 4A compatible with high speed uplink reception to downlink frames DL1, DL2 which are transmitted by the optical transmitter section 10. |
