PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator, an optical scanner, a picture display unit and a head-mounted display capable of saving electric power in the actuator which adopts a moving coil system and can scan light two-dimensionally when applied to the optical scanner.SOLUTION: An optical scanner 1 includes: a foundation 111; shafts 12a, 12b supporting the foundation 111 so as to be swingable around a Y-axis; a frame body part 13 supporting the shafts 12a, 12b; shafts 14a-14d supporting the frame body part 13 to be swingable around an X-axis; a support part 15 supporting the shafts 14a-14d; a coil 31 disposed on the frame body part 13; a permanent magnet 21 generating a magnetic field acting on the coil 31; and soft magnetic materials 22, 23 disposed on the support part 15: the soft magnetic materials 22, 23 being located in two areas located point symmetrically with an intersection point P of the X-axis and the Y-axis, out of four areas of the support part 15 separated by the X-axis and the Y-axis, as viewed in a plan view. |
