[Class 100(iv)] In the device described in the parent Specification for feeding independently account sheets with reference to a journal sheet carried directly by the platen of a typewriter in order to position the account sheets correctly, key-set devices are provided for selecting the position to which the account sheet is moved to bring a particular line thereon into register for duplicating its matter on the journal sheet. The keys 55 are pivoted at 54 in recesses 52 formed in a casing 50 in the shape of a sector of a cylinder and attached to one of the side plates 10 of the positioning device. Each key 55 has a downwardly-projecting arm 56 provided on one side with a lug 57 limiting the upward movement of the key under the action of a spring 53a and on the other side a tooth 58. A sector-shaped member 61 pivoted at 62 has a rim 64 which under the action of a spring 63 normally engages all the arms 56 below the teeth 58. If a key is depressed, the rim 64 engages its tooth 58 and holds it down until another key is depressed. Two shafts 29, 30 which are operated by cranks to position two account sheets as described in the parent Specification, have fixed thereto levers 65, 66, respectively the former of which is connected by a link 70 to a lever 66a similar to the lever 66 and freely mounted on the shaft 30. A spring-pressed pawl 67 is pivoted to the end of each lever 66, 66a and is adapted to engage the end 60 of a depressed key 55 when the levers are rotated. Thus, depression of a key determines the amount of rotation which can be imparted to the shafts 29, 30 so that actuation of a particular key causes a corresponding line on the account sheet to be brought to the required position. More than two account sheets may be accommodated, if desired. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the operating cranks may both be carried by the shaft 30 and the shaft 29 disposed with. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
