[Class 38 (v)] A snap action switch has a flat bowed spring 27, which is supported at its ends in a cupshaped member 20 and rests on two fulcrum points formed by an annular ridge 11 on an insulating base 10. When a push button 26, which can slide in a flanged aperture 25 formed in the member 20, is depressed, the spring 27 snaps over the dead centre position to close the resilient blade contacts 12, 13 and lift the member 20 until it abuts a flange 32. On depressing the member 20 the spring snaps back allowing the contacts to open and returning the push button 26 and member 20 to their initial .positions. |
