616,732. Delivering measured quantities of batter. MARSHALL, E. L. Sept. 10, 1946, No. 27187. [Class 106(v)] [Also in Group V] Apparatus for measuring batter into moulds for ice cream cones or biscuits comprises a barrel provided with pockets 2 adapted to be charged with batter from a feed chamber 5, pivoted plummets 10 being adapted to drop into the pockets by gravity to displace excess batter and being forced out of the pockets by engagement with the barrel as it is intermittently rotated between the filling operations. The batter from the pockets is discharged to the moulds by holes 6. In order to adjust the plummets to penetrate the pockets to the desired extent to regulate the amount of batter, the pivot 11 of each plummet is mounted on an adjustable screw spindle 13. These spindle's may be adjusted simultaneously by a worm shaft or a rack or the plummets may be mounted on a common adjustable shaft. The barrel is rotated periodically through 90 degrees by means of fingers pivoted on the end of the barrel and engaging stops on the barrel.
