[Class 37] A rectifier unit comprises a rectifier element 1, 2, 3 in a housing 4 of insulating material, in the two ends of the housing there being inserted metallic contact members 6 and 11 respectively, the two contact members being provided with means for connecting two such units electrically and mechanically together. The rectifier element consists of two electrodes 1 and 2 separated by a semi-conductor 3 of selenium or copper oxide, a calibrated spring 5 serving to force electrode 1 against electrode 3. The contact member 11 is moulded in the housing 4, but member 6 screws into it, each member being provided with a tapped recess 8 and 9 respectively into which may be inserted screws for connecting two units together or for securing connecting tags to the unit. |
