<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast communication cooperation receiver which complements the lack of resources by acquiring and executing an application having a lacking function of resource thereby extending the function. <P>SOLUTION: A broadcast communication cooperation receiver 400 determines whether or not the encoding system of program content received in broadcast reception means 401 by encoding system determination means 418a can be decoded by a possession decoder. If it cannot be decoded, decoder application acquisition management means 418b acquires the application activation information for controlling the execution operation of a decoder application, i.e. a complementation application having a function for decoding a received program content, through application activation information acquisition means 407, and then a decoder application 415b is activated through application control means 410 according to the application activation information.
