A cylinder bore wall insulating member has a contact surface that comes in contact with a wall surface of a cylinder bore wall that forms a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine and defines a groove-like coolant passage, the contact surface being formed of an elastomer or a resin material, and the ratio ((actual area of contact/formation area of contact surface)×100) of the actual area of contact to the formation area of the contact surface being 1 to 50%. The cylinder bore wall insulating member can be easily fitted into the groove-like coolant passage. |
