<PICT:0605319/III/1> <PICT:0605319/III/2> A limited area of a rectifier disc is coated by applying a flexible masking strip, which may be of paper, to a portion of the disc surface, maintaining the strip in tight engagement with the surface by tension of the strip and applying coating material to the exposed portion of the surface. A series of discs may be coated by mounting the discs on a flexible plate which is held against a curved support by the tension of a masking strip drawn tightly across the discs. In Figs. 1 and 2, a jig 12 mounts a metal plate 11 from which are struck up a series of rectifier base-plates 10. The plate 11 is placed with one end under the hook 15 and an end of the masking strip 17 is wedged in the clip 16, brought up through the notch 19 across the central portions of the discs and is drawn downwardly through the opposite notch 19, pulling the plate 11 against the curved face of the support 14. The insulating liquid can then be applied to the exposed parts by brushing or spraying. |
