PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device capable of suppressing degradation in braking performance occurring when a stroke simulator electromagnetic valve fails to open.SOLUTION: Included are a stroke simulator 27 that has a piston 27a which moves in an axial direction with a chamber separated into two chambers (main chamber R1 and sub-chamber R2), and that produces a pedal stroke when a brake fluid flows from a master cylinder 5 into one (main chamber R1) of the separated chambers over an oil path (first simulator oil path 16), a stroke simulator electromagnetic valve (simulator shutoff valve 26) that is disposed in the oil path (first simulator oil path 16) and is normally closed, and piston movement restriction means (fourth piston seal 554) that restricts a movement of the piston 27a toward the other chamber (sub-chamber R2) occurring when the stroke simulator electromagnetic valve fails to open. |
