PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device configured to reliably prevent adverse thermal effect on a member for holding a belt, in a configuration for preventing temperature increase of a portion outside a paper-passing area of the belt,and to prevent fixation with a fixing belt from being disabled.SOLUTION: A fixing device 20 includes: a holding member 101 for holding an end outside a paper-passing area of a fixing belt 21; a pressure member 22 for pressurizing the fixing belt to form a fixing nip; and a heating source 23 arranged in the fixing belt to heat an area other than a fixing nip. The fixing device includes a light-shielding member 100 which blocks a heat ray emitted from the heating source to the area outside the paper-passing area of the fixing belt 21. In the light-shielding member 100, a reflection rate in the vicinity of the paper-passing area is made different from the reflection rate in an area from the vicinity to the outside so as to reduce the heat ray irradiation to the holding member 101 located at the end outside the paper-passing area, without increasing the temperature in the holding member 101. |
