The system (100) has an electrical heating element for heating an operating medium and supplied with energy from an energy storage in a phase when basis values are detected. A difference amount of energy removed from the energy storage is stored in the energy storage in a recuperation phase by increasing a generator voltage till the different amount of energy is stored in the energy storage by energy recovered in the recuperation phase. The heating element is switched-off when maximum limit values of the operating medium are reached.
