[Class 39 (ii)] A portable electric battery lamp 10 comprises a moulded insulating head portion 15 detachably mounted, as by means of grooves 15b, on a metallic casing 11 housing two electric cells 12, 13 arranged in series. The head portion has a cavity 15c with a one piece switch member 19 anchored in a slideway formed by integrally moulded spaced ledges 15d. Integrally moulded lugs 15e locate a screw cap lamp 16 so that the ferrule may be contacted by the switch blade 19d when a cover 20 is lifted. A partition 15f has a lighting opening 15g visible only when the cover is open. A projection 20a on the cover operates the switch member and reacts with it to snap the cover open or closed. |
