PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator capable of obtaining large vibration amplitude and vibration generating force at low cost and excellent in drop impact resistance and long term reliability.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric actuator consists of a piezoelectric bimorph 10 and supports 11 provided on both end parts thereof. The piezoelectric bimorph 10 is formed so as to vibrate in a primary resonance mode in which displacement of the central part thereof is the maximum at a drive frequency. The supports 11 each have a structure that a part of band-shaped portion in a width direction of both the end parts of the piezoelectric bimorph 10 is sandwiched and supported from upper and lower surfaces thereof, and vibration is transmitted to an external vibrator through the supports 11. The piezoelectric bimorph 10 has a piezoelectric body 13 bonded on one surface of a metal shim 12, and a part of the metal shim 12 protruded on both sides in a width direction of the piezoelectric body 13. The support 11 forms a gap between the upper surface of the piezoelectric body 13 and the support, and supports the piezoelectric bimorph 10 by forming a groove fitted with a part protruded in a width direction of the metal shim 12. |
