PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image in-focus over a wide range, while reducing the processing load for reconstruction during live view driving.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus has, between a photographic lens and an image sensor consisting of multiple photoelectric conversion elements, such a microlens array that one microlens corresponds to the multiple photoelectric conversion elements. The image processing apparatus includes a region splitting unit for splitting a captured image acquired by the image sensor into first multiple split regions and second multiple split regions, a distance information acquisition unit for acquiring the distance information of a subject from the first split region, and a refocus image generation unit for generating a reconstruction image set at a predetermined focal position for the second split region. The refocus image generation unit sets a predetermined focal position for each second split region, based on the distance information acquired from the first split region. |
