Provided is a disposable diaper which has a waist opening that is easily expanded and which is securely held on the body. This disposable diaper has a pair of waist belts, and the waist belts are joined to a diaper body through joining lines which approach a vertical center line from the leg-opening side towards the waist-opening side in front and rear waist regions. At least one of the front and rear waist regions has an upper region positioned at the waist-opening side and a lower region positioned at the leg-opening side, and, in a state in which the waist belts are contracted, the length dimension of the lower region in the lateral direction becomes greater than that of the upper region in the lateral direction. |
