The invention relates to new solid pharmaceutical forms for buccal administration of agomelatine.A solid buccal pharmaceutical composition is described, intended for systemic action, comprising agomelatine or one of its hydrates, complexes, co-crystals, crystalline forms, addition salts with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base, and one or more excipients selected from diluents, binders, flow agents, lubricants, coating agents, plasticizers, flavourings, counter-irritants and sweeteners, characterized in that it makes it possible to obtain slow release of the active ingredient and an absolute bioavailability greater than 25%.The composition has the form of a tablet, a lozenge or a pastille to be sucked, which are obtained by hot-melt extrusion or injection-moulding.The buccal administration of agomelatine with slow release of the active ingredient allows of considerably increasing its bioavailability. |
