PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal wood golf clubs including improved crown constructions as well as improved variable face thickness profiles.SOLUTION: A golf club head 100 comprises a crown peak, and the crown peak 128 is defined as the highest point on an outer surface of the crown 112 when the golf club head 100 is grounded at prescribed lie and loft, a crown peak 128 plane being parallel to the ground plane, the crown peak plane passing through the crown peak 128, a crown cutoff plane being parallel to the crown peak plane, the crown cutoff plane offsetting downwards towards the ground plane by 5 mm along a y-axis from the crown peak plane, an upper crown portion located above the crown cutoff plane and defined by the crown cutoff plane and the outer surface of the crown, and a volume of the upper crown portion being greater than 2 cmand less than 7 cm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
