PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door latch device for a vehicle having high impact resistance.SOLUTION: A door latch device for a vehicle includes: a body 101 which is provided at a door of a vehicle, and in which a striker intrusion groove in which a striker provided at a vehicle body intrudes is formed on one surface; a latch 105 which is engaged with the intruded striker and which can hold the door in a closed position; a cover plate 102 which is assembled on a surface on which the striker intrusion groove of the body 101 is formed; and a back plate 103 which is fixed via the cover plate 102 and the body 101. A through-hole 103a of the back plate 103 is arranged on the vehicle outer side in the case where the door latch device is mounted on the vehicle, and it has a protrusion 103aa which protrudes along a vehicle inside/outside direction of the vehicle. A protrusion 102b of the cover plate 102 has an engaging hole 102ba in which, in the case where the protrusion 103aa of the back plate 103 displaces in the vehicle inside direction due to the deformation by a force applied from the vehicle outside direction, the protrusion 103aa intrudes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
