PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control agent that achieves quick rise of charge and can express excellent charge characteristics, and a manufacturing method of the charge control agent.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a charge control agent including an azo-iron complex salt includes: a reaction step of obtaining a monoazo compound by diazotized coupling reaction; a metallization step of reacting the monoazo compound with an ironizing agent to obtain a wet cake of an azo-iron complex salt; and a drying step of stirring, while heating, the wet cake of an azo-iron complex salt with a paddle to dry the wet cake.SELECTED DRAWING: None
