[Problem] To provide a method for producing 4-methylpentanal efficiently and at good yield. [Solution] A method for producing 4-methylpentanal through the following steps. Step 1: Obtain 3-methyl-1-butanol by hydrogenating 3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol; Step 2: obtain 3-methyl-1-butene by dehydrating the 3-methyl-1-butanol obtained in step 1; Step 3: obtain 4-methylpentanal by hydroformylating the 3-methyl-1-butene obtained in step 2. |
