The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition which can be used for producing an insert-molded article in which a plate-like member is embedded as an insert member and which has excellent heat shock resistance. The present invention provides a resin composition for insert molding, which comprises a polybutylene terephthalate resin, a fibrous filler that has a cross-sectional area having a modification ratio of 1.5 to 5.0 inclusive and an elastomer, wherein the elastomer is a modified ethylene copolymer produced by carrying out the graft polymerization of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of maleic acid and derivatives thereof.
