Use of a feed composition or feed additive comprising at least one para nitroaniline derivative or a salt thereof as defined by formula (I), wherein R1 and R2 independently of each other represent H, —CH3, or —CH2R3, and wherein R3 is a saturated or unsaturated, linear, branched or cyclic C1-C8-hydrocarbon group, optionally substituted with 1 to 3 groups selected from —OH, —NH2, —COOH, and wherein one or two of the carbon atoms in the C1-C8 hydrocarbon is optionally substituted by a nitrogen or an oxygen atom, and at least one organic molecule substituted at any position with at least one nitrooxy group, or a salt thereof as defined by formula (II) wherein Y is an organic molecule of the following composition: CaHbOdNeSg, wherein
a is comprised between 1 and 25,b is comprised between 2 and 51,d is comprised between 0 and 8,e is comprised between 0 and 5,g is comprised between 0 and 3, for reducing the formation of methane emanating from the digestive activities of ruminants and/or for improving ruminant performance. |
