CYLINDRICAL CASE AND JET ENGINE

The case body (5a) of a fan case (5) for a jet engine (3) is formed using a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic composite material. Metallic rings (5b, 5c) are mounted to the front end and the rear end, respectively, of the case body (5a). The metallic rings (5b, 5c) are connected electrically by an electrically conductive cable (5d). Both metallic rings (5b, 5c) and the electrically conductive cable (5d) form a passage for a lightning current.
