PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue video transmission even if the quality of a radio transmission line is reduced, when performing the video transmission at a fixed radio transmission rate.SOLUTION: A redundancy/compression rate calculation part 14 of a video transmission device 3 calculates redundancy and a compression rate on the basis of a reception rate, a retransmission rate and preset settings (transmission rate, target reception loss rate, maximum redundancy and minimum redundancy) in such a manner that a total quantity of compression data packets and redundant data packets with respect to data of video signals and audio signals in a predetermined size becomes constant. A compression coding part 11 generates the compression data packets by performing compression coding on the video signals and the audio signals in accordance with the calculated compression rate. A redundant packet generation part 13 generates the redundant data packets with respect to the compression data packets in accordance with the calculated redundancy. An IP packet transmission part 17 transmits the compression data packets and the redundant data packets.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
