PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for lubricating oil, e.g., capable of suppressing deterioration of the oxidation of a lubricating oil composition under a high temperature environment of 270°C or more and improving the performance of the maintenance of basic value, and also good in dissolubility even to mineral oil, and a lubricating oil composition obtained by blending the additive for lubricating oil into base oil.SOLUTION: Provided is an additive agent for lubricating oil represented by general formula (1): [in the general formula (1), Rand Rdenote organic groups selected from a specified group, either Ror Ris an organic group (α) having the carbon number of 13 or higher, and the other is an organic group (β) having the carbon number of 12 or lower.
