The present feature relates to an information processing device, an information processing method, a program, and an information processing system such that authentication processing reflecting the intention of a user can be achieved using a simple device configuration even when multiple authentication destinations are involved. A reader/writer device transmits an authentication request together with an advertisement to a terminal device mounted on a wearable terminal by means of Bluetooth Low Energy short-range communication and emits light in a predetermined light-emitting pattern so as to indicate transmission of the authentication request corresponding to the advertisement. Upon receiving the authentication request, the terminal device transmits light of a color corresponding to the advertisement using the predetermined light-emitting pattern. At this time, the user can ascertain if the terminal device and the reader/writer device are emitting light in the same light-emitting pattern and thereby can determine whether or not the authentication request has been accepted by the reader/writer device of interest. This feature can be applied to FeliCa (registered trademark) authentication systems that utilize short-range communication. |
