The present surgical scissors comprise jaws with handles, and a base and a cutting edge, wherein the base and the cutting edge are made of bulk silicon carbide. The invention makes it possible to extend the process capabilities of the manufacture of the cutting edge, and to increase wear resistance and chemical and thermal resistance.
