A real-time traffic information providing method includes the steps of: receiving traffic congestion degree report signals, which are calculated based on information collected through a vehicle operation information collection apparatus, from one or more devices; determining a slowing reference point and a traffic jam reference point based on the traffic congestion degree report signals transmitted from the devices; determining a slowing section and a traffic jam section based on the distance between the slowing reference point and the traffic jam reference point, a preset slowing reference speed, and a preset traffic jam reference speed; and transmitting the information regarding the determined slowing section and traffic jam section to the devices. |
