PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately observe the crystal of an ice board.SOLUTION: An ice board 22 whose cross-section for observation is flatly cut is inserted into a case 12, and the cross section for observation is adhered to the face of a first member 14. A second member 16 and a handle member 18 are inserted from an upper opening 12B into the case 12, and the handle member 18 is rotated while the second member 16 is butted to the face of the ice board 22 in a state that the second member 16 is extended in a direction which is orthogonal to the axial center of the case 12. The face of the ice board 22 is cut according as a cutter 20 is rotated around the axial center with the second member 16, and the thickness of the ice board 22 is made thin. When the polarization directions of a first polarizer 24A and a second polarizer 24B are made different by 90 degrees, the crystal structure of ice is turned into an observable state from the upper opening 12B. The handle member 18 is rotated to cut the ice until the crystal structure is clearly visualized. |
