[Class 18] A box for confectionery &c. is formed by attaching to a bottom blank strips which form the sides of the box and have obliquely disposed tongues on their upper edges which fold inwardly to form the lid. The bottom may be octagonal and may have flaps 2 which fold up from each side. The strips 3 are cut across part of their width to form the tongues 5 and are joined by tongue and slot connections 9, 10 to form a band, having eight sides and tongues, which is secured to the flaps 2 by adhesive. The tongues are folded inwardly in overlapping relationship to interlock and to close the box. The sides may slope outwardly towards the top and the band may be continuous.
