The present invention relates to a method for preparing a water-soluble dispersoid of a vinyl acetate polymer. More particularly, the method comprises a step of polymerizing vinyl acetate under the condition of emulsion polymerization in presence of hypophosphite salt or X-R1-SH which is a chain transfer agent. R1 is an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, and X is sulfonate, hydroxyl, sulfate, phosphate, phosphonate, carboxylic acid or salt thereof, or an alkyl carboxylate group having 1-3 carbon atoms. The method can lower viscosity of the vinyl acetate polymer having a given amount of solids. |
