PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge device capable of resetting a count value of the number of print sheets at a timing when a print sheet being loaded in a tray is removed, without providing a new component.SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device 30 is provided at a sheet discharge space 21 of an image formation device 10. An external tray 52 of the sheet discharge device 30 includes a horizontal loading surface 53A and an inclining loading surface 53B, with maximum loading capacity on loading surfaces different. A control part 100, when A3-sized sheet is discharged and a count value of discharged sheets reaches a threshold value T, stops driving of a discharge roller pair 44 at the time point when a transportation amount P has been discharged since T-th A3-sized sheet was discharged, and under a condition in which a rear end of the A3-sized sheet is pinched by the discharge roller pair 44, stops discharging operation of the A3-sized sheet (S16). After that, when it is detected that the A3-sized sheet in the external tray has been removed based on change in signal of an optical sensor 61, the control part 100 resets a count value (S19). |
