Internal combustion engine with a fuel system

The internal combustion engine (12) has a fuel system which has a fuel valve (26) with a housing, in which a fuel chamber is formed, where the fuel system has a fuel pump (34) which conveys the fuel from a fuel tank (32) into the fuel chamber. The fuel system comprises a conveying pump (69) for forcibly feeding the fuel in the fuel system. The conveying pump is arranged in a feed line (50) for the fuel chamber of the fuel valve and feeds the fuel in the fuel chamber. The fuel chamber is connected with a relief duct (58), in which a valve (73) is arranged.
