[Class 92 (ii)] A partial liner tube B is introduced into the barrel A without screwing and with little or no forcing, and bears against a retaining ring C. The arrangement is such that, on firing, the tube expands and thus ensures gas-tightness at the junction g between it and the barrel. The front end of the tube may be conical. A tube may be similarly applied to the muzzle end of a gun. |
