625,970. Bottle capsules; non-metallic hollow-ware. MUGUET, F. Feb. 4, 1946, No. 3501. [Classes 66 and 125(iii)] Bottle capsules, cups or like containers are made by winding on a mandrel a sheet of extra thin material 1, such as metal, paper, or " Cellophane " (Registered Trade Mark), previously cut out to the required form, and having at least one edge adhesive, and flanging on the head of said mandrel the extremity of the material thus wound so as to form the end 5 of the capsule or container. The adhesive may be in the form of a strip placed between the overlapping edges during winding, and the cementing may be effected by electric heating. A disc 6 having an adhesive lining may be applied to the end 5 by a heated punch which may also perform a stamping or printing operation. The finished capsule or container may be ejected from the mandrel by means of compressed air. |
