The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a lamp for a vehicle which allow a plurality of light emitting units disposed on a lamp for a vehicle to have delay time and turn on the light emitting units when turning on the light emitting units after turning off the light emitting units while controlling the light emitting units to turn on and off the light emitting units to avoid disturbing a view of a nearby vehicle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for controlling a lamp for a vehicle comprises: an object detection to detect an object in the front; and a lamp control unit to turn on and off a plurality of light emitting units included in a lamp for a vehicle in response to the detected object, and turn on each light emitting unit after prescribed delay time elapses after adjacent light emitting units are turned off. |
