The present invention relates to manufacturing a decorative element for a timepiece or a jewelry piece. The decorative element may be a clock face. The method according to the present invention includes a step of acquiring a base substrate, a step of performing micro-machining on mold or decorative partitions (6) on the base substrate into a desired pattern, and a step of obtaining the decorative element by filling the mold or decorative partitions with at least one filling material (7). The filling material may be an epoxy resin and the mold or partitions are obtained by melting and solidification of solder paste or powder.
