A capsule, for a beverage maker (fig 1), has an outwardly extending flange 20 with at least one projection 53 exerting a radial force on a free end of an annular element 6 of the beverage maker, in use. Before use, the capsule may have one projection 53 with an angled plateau 52, two projections spaced by a flat plateau (fig 4A), two projections spaced by a curved plateau (fig 4B), two projections with a V-shape therebetween, or one projection with a curved plateau (figs 4D/4E). The projections 53 help form a fluid seal between the capsule and annular element 6 of the beverage maker. The beverage maker (fig 1) may have an enclosing member having a central annular element 6 such that the projection top 53 exerts the radial force on the free contact end of the annular element 6 when the capsule is placed in the enclosing member, and the enclosing member is then closed by a closing member of the beverage maker. The capsule has a body and foil made with aluminium. |
