PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical performance device enabling a player to obtain a feeling as if he is performing a choke rendition on an actual drum set.SOLUTION: A CPU executes: instructing sound production of a predetermined tone when a performance operation is initiated onto a flat surface that is a percussion surface using a stick part; starting, from the initiation of the performance operation, to obtain a pitch angle &Dgr;&thetas; formed between the flat surface and stick part, and starting to obtain a yaw angle &phgr;1 or &phgr;2 formed between the stick part at a starting point and the stick part at thereafter, where the starting point is defined as the stick part at the time of the initiation of the performance operation; and instructing muting of the tone that has been instructed to preform sound production in a case where the obtained pitch angle and yaw angle meet a predetermined condition within a predetermined period from the time of the initiation of the performance operation. |
