PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera that shortens display delay of a subject image.SOLUTION: A digital camera includes: an area image sensor 15 for generating pixel data; a flat panel display; an image processing circuit 22 for generating display image data with a size corresponding to the flat panel display from the pixel data; and a timing generating circuit 21 for applying a timing control signal to the area image sensor, the image processing circuit, and the flat panel display. The timing control signal includes a vertical synchronization signal and a horizontal synchronization signal. In a still image photographing mode, the timing generating circuit generates a timing control signal per frame in an integrated fashion which timing control signal makes repetition cycles of a processing unit to process data for one frame at the respective area image sensor, flat panel display, and image processing circuit accord at a cycle shorter than 1/60 second, and makes phase difference in repeating the processing unit constant. |
