PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption assisting sheet having excellent absorption performance and biodegradability, and to provide an absorber.SOLUTION: The absorption assisting sheet is superposed on a liquid absorbent sheet having water absorbability or liquid absorbability of low-viscosity liquid, and assists the liquid absorbent sheet by retaining high-viscosity liquid having absorption which is hard for the liquid absorbent sheet. The absorption assisting sheet comprises at least one-layer nonwoven fabric that is formed by heat-treating air-laid web consisting of a material fiber that contains at least one type of thermally fusible fiber (S) selected from a fiber (x1) and a fiber (x2) and has a content of not less than 2 mass% and not more than 50 mass%. The nonwoven fabric has a basis weight of 50 g/g/mor more, and apparent density of not less than 0.015 g/cmand not more than 0.045 g/cm. The fiber (x1) is a thermally fusible fiber composed of a resin (A) selected from polybutylene succinate. The fiber (x2) is a thermally fusible fiber composed of a resin (B) selected from polylactic acid and the resin (A). |
