PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear surface irradiation solid state image sensor in which light condensing characteristics are enhanced while suppressing optical noise, such as flare and smear.SOLUTION: A solid state image sensor includes a substrate on which a plurality of light-receiving parts are formed, and having the rear side serving as a light irradiation surface, and a wiring layer formed on the front side of the substrate. The solid state image sensor further includes a trench formed between adjacent light-receiving parts down to a desired depth from the rear side of the substrate, and a light shielding part composed of a light shielding film buried in the trench. |
