The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to inspect a wheel gap which prevents a wheel mounted on a cart to transport sintered ore from unintentionally escaping from the cart to facilitate maintenance and repair work of the cart. According to a proper embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus to inspect the wheel gap comprises: a stopping member fixated on one side of a wheel lip, whose movement from the wheel lip in a direction of gravity or an opposite direction of gravity, is restricted; a measurement beam connected to the stopping member, and extended to a prescribed length; a support unit extended below the measurement beam, and provided to position the measurement beam at a prescribed height; and a detection unit fixated on one side of the stopping unit or the measurement beam to detect a movement of the wheel in the direction of gravity. |
