An embodiment relates to an apparatus for driving a light emitting device, which is capable of driving a light emitting unit including a plurality of light emitting device arrays. The apparatus for driving a light emitting device includes a rectifier unit for rectifying an AC signal to output a rectified signal; a driving control unit for sensing a voltage level of the rectified signal to control the turning on and off of a plurality of light emitting device arrays connected in series to each other based on the sensed voltage level of the rectified signal; a current control unit connected between the output terminal of the last one of the light emitting device arrays connected in series to each other and the driving control unit to control current flowing through the light emitting unit; and a noise filter connected between the light emitting unit and the rectifier unit to remove a high-frequency noise included in the rectified signal provided from the light emitting unit.
